Sensory needs services
Support for people with a sensory impairment.
Do you face challenges in your life? Or do you need advice for a family member?
Adult Social Care provides services to people who have a visual impairment, are Deaf, have an acquired hearing loss, are deafblind – sometimes known as a dual sensory impairment – a significant combination of hearing and sight loss.
We can help you to find out more about:
- social clubs and activities
- offer practical tips, advice, and information.
- promote independent living skills such as making hot drinks and cooking a meal safely.
- environmental advice and risk assessments
- provide specialist equipment to help you maintain your independence.
- tell you about specialist support groups in the local area
- advise you on how to register your sensory loss with the local authority and on the benefits of being registered.
- other benefits and finances
If you are eligible for services, we will work with you to identify your needs and the best ways to meet them.
