Sensory needs services

Support for people with a sensory impairment.

Do you face challenges in your life? Or do you need advice for a family member?

Adult Social Care provides services to people who have a visual impairment, are Deaf, have an acquired hearing loss, are deafblind – sometimes known as a dual sensory impairment – a significant combination of hearing and sight loss.

We can help you to find out more about:

• social clubs and activities
• offer practical tips, advice, and information.
• promote independent living skills such as making hot drinks and cooking a meal safely.
• environmental advice and risk assessments
• provide specialist equipment to help you maintain your independence.
• tell you about specialist support groups in the local area
• advise you on how to register your sensory loss with the local authority and on the benefits of being registered.

If you are eligible for services, we will work with you to identify your needs and the best ways to meet them.
