Working together

Working together (also known as co-production) means people who use adult social care services and their family carers working as equals alongside staff. They can share their experience, skills and influence to help design, develop, deliver and monitor services.

We are on an exciting journey here at Reading Borough Council as we launch our new Working Together initiative.

If you’ve got lived experience of getting support from social care, or care for someone who has, we’d love you to join us and add your voice to the mix of people helping to shape our services.

Some of the ways to be involved

  • Board member
  • Working Together Group
  • Commissioning
  • Creating and reviewing web pages
  • Focus groups
  • Interview panels
  • And much, much more!

 What’s in it for me?

Being a Working Together volunteer makes a difference to others but also offers opportunities to connect with new people, develop skills and grow your confidence. You will benefit from free training as well as meeting like-minded people and potentially gain a new sense of purpose.
