My Reading Account information and advice
About My Reading Account
Introduced towards the end of 2024, My Reading Account is the main Reading Borough Council account where you can access online services and forms. It will completely replace the old system, known as ‘My Account’ or ‘Self’, once all the online forms have been transferred across.
One login, all platforms
We’re making this change so it’s easier for you to access the council’s online services.
We’re in the process of connecting all council platforms to My Reading Account, so you only ever need one login. This is sometimes referred to as a ‘single sign on’.
So far, three platforms have been connected to the My Reading Account. As we continue, other council platforms will be connected such as those for Council Tax, parking permits, libraries and more.
Create a My Reading Account
If you haven’t done so already, we’d recommend creating a My Reading Account to continue accessing our online services seamlessly. Use the same email address to ensure your old and new account link successfully.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
We appreciate it may be a little confusing whilst we move from one platform to another. Below we’ve listed some of the common issues that may arise, and details of how to resolve them.
I can’t log in or reset my password

I can’t find the form I need
Because we are moving from one platform to another, some forms are still on the old My Account website. Before searching for a form, ensure you have created a My Reading Account so your log in is not interrupted.
I’m having trouble linking my Housing Online account
