What personal data is held?

Name and address is required when a resident requests more bags for participation in the plastic bags and wrappings recycling trial. The address is used to post out the bags.

Residents are able to provide an email address if they would like to receive updates about the trial.

How will the data be stored?

Data will be stored in a password protected spreadsheet.

What is the legal basis for the collection, use and storage of the data?

We rely on the following as the lawful bases on which we collect and use your personal data:

RBC will retain the data the duration of the plastic bags and wrappings trial (until October 2025).

The postage company will retain the data for 1-2 months to fulfil the request.

Who will it be shared with and for what purpose?

Addresses (only) will be sent to a third-party UK-based company to post out the bags.

How can the service user get access to it?

State whether any data is to be transferred outside the UK?

The bag distribution company back up their computer using Idrive; which is based in the USA. Idrive is self-certified for compliance with the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Is processing based on consent?

No.
