Reading Streetpod Pilot

We have recently launched a trial of the Streetpods across the town centre. These are new to Reading and feature enhanced security over standard Sheffield stands due to their unique design.

The Streetpod has been awarded the Sold Secure Diamond rating, the highest level of bicycle security. It is also Secured by Design accredited and officially recommended by UK Police through the ‘Police Preferred Specification’ programme.

The trial includes the following locations:

• Broad Street (near Gails)
• Oxford Road (Cheapside)
• Reading West Train Station
• Town Centre target junction (outside Metro Bank and KFC).

We invite cyclists around Reading to try out these new cycling facilities, and provide any feedback to transport@reading.gov.uk.

If the trial is successful, and there is sufficient funding, we plan to expand the number of Streetpods within the town centre and across Reading.
