Measuring success – cars

We intend to collect data on car usage, carbon emissions, road accidents and public satisfaction with highway maintenance in the borough. We will collect the data annually. 

• For car trips to, from and through the town centre – 2022 baseline is 25.4% mode share, the target for 2040 is 10% mode share 
• For road transport carbon emissions – 2020 baseline is 100.4 kt CO₂, the target for 2040 is 54 kt CO₂ 
• For all people killed or seriously injured on the highway network in the borough – 2019-21 baseline average is 36 per year, the target for 2040 is 50% reduction 
• For public satisfaction with highway maintenance – 2022 baseline is 50%, the target for 2040 is 75% satisfaction
