Measuring success – public transport

We intend to collect data on bus, rail and park and ride usage in the borough. We will collect the data annually.  

• For bus usage in the borough – 2021/22 baseline is 14 million, the target for 2040 is 28 million passengers 
• For annual bus use per head – 2021/22 baseline is 81.2, the target for 2040 is 162.4 per head 
• Park and Ride usage – 2021/22 baseline is 100,000, the target for 2040 is 1 million passengers 
• Rail usage – entries and exits for all stations – 2021/22 baseline is 9.3 million, the target for 2040 is 20 million passengers 
• Public transport trips to the town centre – 2022/23 baseline is 39.2% mode share, the target for 2040 is 50% mode share 
• Overall bus passenger satisfaction – 2019 baseline is 92%, the target for 2040 is 96% satisfaction
