Park and Ride mobility hubs

The issue   

Reading suffers from heavy congestion in many areas. East and south Reading already have Park and Ride Mobility Hubs which helps reduce traffic along those routes into the town centre. The north and west of Reading would benefit from similar hubs.  

Demand for the town centre and the rail network is set to increase. More cars on these key routes into town will result in greater congestion. 

The scheme   

Park and Ride provision at locations to the north and west of Reading.  

The bus rapid transit corridors (link to scheme?) from these hubs will prioritise public transport and therefore reduce traffic. 

The outcome   

• Increased transport capacity into town, facilitating economic growth
• Less congestion 
• Improved air quality
