Transport consultation supplementary information
The draft Reading Transport Strategy 2040 is being developed as the statutory Local Transport Plan (LTP4) for the Borough of Reading and sets the strategy to 2040 for a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable Reading. The draft strategy contains schemes to tackle poor air quality and congestion and to help Reading achieve its net zero carbon target in less than a decade.

Over the summer of 2019 we ran a consultation to get your input into the new Reading Transport Strategy 2036 and more than 3,500 of you got involved through events, drop in sessions, school workshops and our online survey. Your input helped shape the direction of the strategy, confirming the core strategic themes and priorities.

As part of the development of our Transport Strategy we have commissioned the undertaking of an Integrated Impact Assessment (IIA). The IIA comprises three linked assessment areas:
- Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA);
- Equalities Impact Assessment (EqIA); and,
- Health Impact Assessment (HIA)
