Crescent Road School Street

Reading’s fourth school street has been now approved to be made permanent in Crescent Road.

This scheme was introduced on a trial basis in February 2022 using an Experimental Traffic Order (ETO) for a maximum period of 18 months.

Crescent Road is closed to all but eligible vehicles between Wokingham Road and its junction with Bulmershe Road. The closure is between 8:15-9:00am and 2:45-3:30pm, Monday to Friday and during term time only. This serves the three local schools on Crescent Road, Maiden Erlegh School in Reading, UTC Reading and Alfred Sutton Primary School, and is supported by a number of local resident volunteers.

Following the consultation the Experimental Traffic Regulation Order was made a Permanent Traffic Regulation Order at the Councils Transport Management Sub-Committee.
